The psychosocial intervention team and the animators of four toy libraries in Nahalin, Obeidieh and El-Khader villages and Deheisheh refugee camp in the Bethlehem district received training certificates for completing the third module on arts therapy, handed to them by the British Council Director, Mr. Alan Smart. The training was led by two therapists from Tutubi organisation based in the UK with the generous support of the British Council in Palestine. The training focused on developing the skills and expertise of BASR professionals in using arts therapeutically with vulnerable groups, besides the experiential learning for fostering new skills and encouraging the team’s reflection on work practices in different art activities such as painting, drama, music, poetry and movement. It’s important to point out that the participants render therapeutic intervention to traumatized, abused and neglected children with disabilities and their families. They also organize regular activities at the toy libraries of the community centers.“I’m very glad to celebrate this real success of your hard working team, and I’m deeply interested to keep such an important cooperation with BASR multidisciplinary team”, proclaimed Mr. Smart.
