A 3-day workshop on “Professional Supervision” organized by BASR and PCC PDF Print E-mail


With the support of the Office for Psychosocial Issues- Freeuniversity of Berlin, BASR and the Palestinian counseling center (PCC) –Jerusalem organized a three day workshop on “Professional Supervision”. Participants included: psychologists, social workers, administrators, teamleaders from different organizations (SOS village, UNRWA, Mehwar, GTC, HWC,PCC, BASR, Tawasol Center) from Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron and Ramallah, 18in total. This training is the first of a series of five trainings aspart of a 30 month period program. The program also includes monthly supervision sessions for the same participants, who are all mental health workers and will become professional supervisors.The training was led by two mental health professionals from BASR, who have received a Diploma in Professional Supervision from the Free University of berlin in Germany. The main objective of this program is to create a body of professional supervisors who have received the same trainings and would workwith the same theoretical background and techniques and to promote the development of sustainability and local ownership of the supervision process in Palestine.
