Child Sexual Abuse: From Prevention to Healing

The overall objective of the national conference is to improve prevention programs on sexual abuse and offer adequate support for children victims of sexual abuse at a national level

 

  • The specific objectives of the conference are:
  • To sensitize child professionals on the identification of children victims of sexual abuse
  • To encourage stakeholders on developing prevention programs on sexual abuse of children
  • To sensitize child professionals on the necessity of developing a multidisciplinary approach/network when it comes to sexual abuse
  • To sensitize legal authorities on the psychological needs of children victims of sexual abuse
  • To inform child professionals on the responsibilities/legal procedures when identifying children victims of sexual abuse

The conference targeted professionals working in the field of child protection within institutions that operate at the national level, child protection units, women centers, representatives of the legal , judicial and executive institutions.

We hope that the recommendations and proposals made at the conference will improve the practices and the procedures commonly followed in the field of children protection and shed more light on the challenges and difficulties face by professionals dealing with sexual abuse-related issues .
