Training for young people with visual impairment, supported by the FFVI PDF Print E-mail

As part of the “Empowerment of Palestinian People with Visual Impairment and Promoting their Inclusion in Society” project supported by the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired (FFVI), 23 young persons with visual impairment participated in the second 1 day training out of a series of six trainings planned for 2012 in order to build the capacity of young persons with visual impairment and enable them to claim and advocate their rights.

The training discussed topics concerning disability definition (its causes and methods of prevention) - disability models (the medical, social, charitable, moral and the rights based and inclusive development model) and terminology assigned to disability - raising community awareness about disability issues.
