BASR, in cooperation with the FFVI, organised a follow-up on-the-job training on “computing with special software used by people with visual impairment” led by Mr. Erkki Suorlahti, Senior ICT Supervisor – Head of ICT Department at the FFVI. Participants comprised of six staff members from Bethlehem University (four IT staff and one Occupational Therapy lecturer), one technical person responsible for the resource unit for students with disabilities and six ICT teachers from three schools for the visually impaired in the West Bank, in addition to BASR’s vision rehabilitation instructors.

The participants together with the trainer reviewed what they had learned from the first training. Afterwards, they discussed the implementation of what they had assimilated from the previous training and the problems they faced in transferring this knowledge to students or to other teachers. Following this, they considered ways to overcome such difficulties in using the software, equipment and programs used at their school.

The follow-up training was conducted at Al Noor School for the Visually Impaired, Jenin, Al Alayieh School for the Visually Impaired, Beit Jala and Al Kafif School for the Visually Impaired, Hebron as well as the resource unit at Bethlehem University and BASR’s Vision Rehabilitation Department.
