As part of the ongoing activities within the “Empowerment of Palestinian People with Visual Impairment and Promoting their Inclusion in Society” project, supported by the Finish Federation of the Visually Impaired (FFVI) and jointly implemented with BSCD, a recreational evening was organized at BSCD facility.

At the beginning of the event, Nasser Jaber, director of BSCD, stressed the importance of such activities and urged the General Union of Persons with Disabilities (GUPWDs)- Bethlehem Branch and persons with disabilities to regularly participate and encourage their peers to take part in similar activities.

“We are striving for extending the scope of the activities to include computer training, advocacy and awareness sessions; this is a continuous program which aims at giving persons with visual impairment a free access to sports, music, leisure, and training opportunities on equal par with others to promote their inclusion in the community” said Jaber.

20 persons with visual impairment from different parts of Bethlehem district in addition to GUPWD members, BASR, and BSCD staff attended the event. During the evening, participants enjoyed playing Domino and other accessible games, while others preferred singing with the music trainer in an enjoyable environment.
