A training course entitled “Update on Wound Care and antiseptics" was held at Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation.

 


The training was organized by Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation – continuing education program - in cooperation with the Belgian organization (APEFE) concerned with the advancement of education and training overseas. The training covered infection control issues among other topics of wound care. The training was designed and implemented by both Marie Vandermeiren and Alexis Miller and lasted for 4 days in which participants completed 24 training hours.


The training aimed at updating the participants’ information and keeping them abreast of the latest scientific developments and the protocols used in this area and how to apply them in order to raise the level of nursing care provided to beneficiaries.


A number of nurses from other organizations participated in the training such as Caritas Hospital - Bethlehem, Al Ahli Hospital - Hebron, Palestine Military Hospital - Bethlehem, UNRWA clinic - Bethlehem and some of the nursing students from the Caritas Nursing College and the Nursing College at Hebron University.


It should be noted that this training course is part of a series of courses organized by the continuing education program at BASR in collaboration with its partners to build capacity and facilitate the exchange of scientific and practical experiences of the cadre and workers from other institutions to elevate the level of services provided at Palestinian health institutions and to improve the overall quality of health services.
